VARSITY ATHLETES MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN LOCAL COMMUNITY.

One of our values here at Black Bar Fitness is contribution and within our Varsity program we also practice building leadership skills! Throughout our Youth program we provide a variety of ways for our athletes to contribute both in and out of the gym, as well as extending to the Local Community.

ROW OFF FOR SCARS (second chances rescue center)

The Rowathon is a dedicated day where both varsity programs gather together, and Row to raise funds for their charity of choice. These athletes meet for a 60 minute row after gathering sponsorships for the distance they row in the 60 minute time frame to contribute to their Charity.

WHAT’S SO GREAT ABOUT THE ROWATHON?

The camaraderie, the fellowship, and the empowerment that comes from an event like this is amazing. Nothing beats watching these young athletes come together, some for the first time rowing 60 minutes straight and others exceeding their personal bests. This is an exciting and unique experience, for our Kids showing them they can make a difference in the lives of others.

IT’S ALL ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY

This past year was our 3rd annual Rowathon, with Varsity athletes raising $1647. for their charity. We are proud our varsity athletes have chosen to support their furry friends and to date have raised a total of $3172. from these events contributing to the SCARS Rescue Centre in Morinville providing the athletes with an opportunity to make a difference in their local community!

We want to sincerely thank our members for continuing to help us provide opportunities like this for our community at-large.
